Twitter is easy to use and one of the best online news and social networking service on which users post and interact with each other with messages known as “tweets”. Messages are beautifully displaced even those of your friends or followers posting simultaneously on your Twitter feed like kind of a TV events or talk show. Better than those other social media channels. Tweets are restricted to 160 characters. Meaning you cannot write more than 160 characters. However if you do, twitter highlights the extra words you write on and also subtracts the extra word count in numbers (those that are more than 160 characters ). But it’s never limited to many other cool stuffs you would want to post. Honestly if you are a person who wants to post constantly, you will enjoy the program and win many of the followers (subscribers).
Now, let’s move on. When we talk about Social media presence of branding of your Blog, business or personal Profile for fun,Twitter is a great place to go, believe me when I am saying this; you will soon find out. It revolves around the principle of followers. When you choose to follow another Twitter user, that user’s tweets appear in reverse chronological order on your main Twitter page. If you follow 20 people, you’ll see a mix of tweets scrolling down the page: Pretty cool though, sort of like a live thing going on within your news feed (Twitter page). You will see beautiful pictures, gifs or videos, breakfast-cereal updates, interesting new links, music recommendations, even musings on the future of education all scrolling down every seconds tempting you to do your post too . Of course you will and enjoy every bit of it. It’s like a TV channel as you will notice.
How to Create your first Twitter Account
Go to Twitter.com now and click on signup button and start filling out the information.
Once you are on twitter homepage, Enter your Full name, Email address and Password to create your Twitter account. It’s like the same way you create you other social media profiles. Nothing complicated here folks.
If you are creating an account for your blog, make sure you use your brand name as Full name. Do remember, Twitter keep changing their homepage design so that the process will be the same, only button placement may differ over time.
Click on Sign up for Twitter and on the page, Twitter will use your name as username if it’s available. You can also change it now or later without any problem. Make sure you stick to one username from day one for good branding. Its better to bring the same name you use in other social media channel into Twitter for your branding or SEO or your other social media friends to find and follow you.
Click on Create my account, and next steps require just a click on the mouse. Twitter would offer few recommended accounts to follow, you can simply follow those twitter accounts if you like. But for the first time, choose what makes relevant to you best or simply stick to the basics.
Next, you will receive an Email from the Twitter verification team, click on the link in the Email to verify your account. Do remember, this is an important step. Once you verified your account, you will be taken to twitter home page, and you will be logged into your Twitter account.
Great, you have created your Twitter account but it’s like a blank canvas. You need to add information to make it look nice and personalize it. The very first thing you need is, filling out important information about your brand by clicking on the Settings button. You can read about ‘What to write in Twitter’ bio to understand, what kind of information you should write here. The best I recommend are short YouTube videos that you can Google search.
Make sure not to select the check box under Twitter privacy. I recommend you do not use it, because once you use “Protect my Tweet feature”, other users can’t see your tweets until you allow them to follow you and you miss out a big opportunity of reaching out to masses.
